Gold has fascinated the human race for thousands of years. Gold adornments have been found in ancient burial sites in many areas of the world. Most notably in Egypt and South America. The space age has found new uses for gold, but the use for adornments coinage and Ingots utilized by governments and individuals for storage of wealth is still the greatest usage. Since September 11th 2001 the value of an ounce of gold has increased over 300% and is now at a historical high of over 1200 per oz.

The recent economic turn down has created a massive gold selling spree for people selling unused, broken or damaged jewelry pieces, for needed cash. Jewels & Estate Gallery by G. Darrell Olson is a licensed buyer of gold, platinum and diamonds and offers confidentially in all transactions.

Watch Repair

Many of you know our jeweler and watch repairman Danny Candelaria.  He has been fixing watches in Arizona for over 20 years.  From a simple battery replacement to a complex rebuild, Jewels & Estate Gallery offers wide range watch repair services.  At your request and at no charge, we will quote any repair job before we start the work.  We have a Watch Repair Department where we do the repairs and we don’t send the watches out to the factories to have the repairs done as it takes on average 4 to 6 weeks before you get your watch back. In many cases when a watch come in the store for repair and we notice that it is a Quartz watch we always check to see if it simply a battery, if that is in fact what it is we can do the job while you wait. Most of the time it is only a few minutes and the fee is minimal. There isn’t a watch that we can’t work on. Our prices are half of what the factory will charge, and we will give you a 6 month warrantee on any work that we have done on your watch.
So before taking your watch to quick fix store or sending it back to the manufacturer, come in and see Danny or any of our fine staff here at the Jewels & Estate Gallery by G. Darrell Olson.
We have our custom Order Department in which we can make anything for you, especially that unfortunate time that you lose one Earring or one Cufflink. We can also restore a vintage piece of jewelry that is wearing out, has lost stones, and needs to be rebuilt in the back of a ring. We can restore a piece of jewelry that is a keep sake so that it can remain a family heirloom for years to come.
At Jewels by G. Darrell Olson we offer full service for all your valuable timepieces. Below is a list of the most  common questions.
Q: My watch isn’t running correctly. That means I need a new battery, right?
A: Not necessarily. You’re probably right to assume that the battery is at fault, but not always. Sometimes the problem is caused by one pr more of these culprits: moisture, abuse, corrosion, dirt, age or wear.

Q: Is there any cost for an estimate?
A: We provide estimates free of charge. We just need a couple of working days to figure out why the watch isn’t running correctly. Estimates will be given prior to any work is done to the watch.

Q: But how does dirt and debris get inside my watch?
A: Through normal everyday use. Microscopic bits of matter accumulate around the case openings of any watch. This matter can work into your watch and cause it to perform erratically or come to a complete stop. If ignored for too long, the problem can be irreversible. But our periodic overhaul usually restores most watches to their original dependability.

Q: An overhaul? I thought my quartz was virtually care free.
A: We recommend a periodic overhaul for there reasons:

  • Gears that move must be cleaned and oiled
  • Gummy circuits may need to be cleaned
  • Batteries must be checked and/or replaced.
Q: Exactly what will you do?
A: A number of procedures are involved, all equally important.
Disassembling your watch: Cleaning the movements part by part. Hand removal of corrosion and rust and polishing or washing the case and band.
Reassembling the movement: Checking for damaged or broken parts, aligning the axels and gears, oiling the places where most motion occurs.
Timing your watch on our electronic equipment and observing your watch for malfunction for 24 hours.

Q: Will there be a warranty on my watch overhaul?
A: Yes. You will receive a 6 month limited warranty for accurate time keeping within the limits of your watch.
